An Ordinance to amend the Marriage Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice

and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Marriage (Amend- Short title.

ment) Ordinance 1975.

2. Section 9 of the principal Ordinance is amended by- (a) being renumbered as subsection (1) thereof; and (6) inserting the following new subsection-

"(2) Where the Registrar is satisfied that the parties intend to contract the marriage before him. he may, in lieu of issuing a certificate under sub- section (1), endorse on such notice a statement to the effect that the issue of the certificate has not
