buildings is, on the first day of any year of assess- ment, restricted by reference to the rent recoverable on or before the 25th December 1941, property tax shall be charged at one-half the standard rate on the rateable value of such buildings contained in the valuation lists which came into effect on the 1st April 1973 and were kept in force by section 56(1) of the Rating Ordinance 1973, less an allowance for repairs and outgoings of twenty per cem of that Tateable value.”.

3. Section 7 of the principal Ordinance is amended by of section 7. deleting "shall, in respect of each entire month during which the land or buildings or land and buildings were unoccupied, be reduced by one twenty-fourth of the total tax which would have been payable in respect thereof if the same had been occupied for the whole of that year of assessment" and substituting the following-

"shall be reduced proportionately",

An Ordinance to amend the Quarantine and Prevention of Disease

Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinancs may be cited as the Quarantine and Short title. Prevention of Disease (Amendment) Ordinance 1974.

Section 2 of the principal Ordinance is amended in Amendment subsection (1) by deleting the definition of "infectious disease" of section 2, and substituting the following-

""infectious disease" means any disease specified in the

First Schedule:”.
