An Ordinance to amend the Rating Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Rating (Amendment) Ordinance 1971.

Z. Section 36 of the principal Ordinance is repealed and replaced by the following-

"Additional

power to grant refund of rates.

36. Notwithstanding anything in this Ordinance, the Governor may order a refund of rates to be made in any case in which he thinks fit to do so.”.

3. Section 38 of the principal Ordinance is amended by deleting subsection (4) and substituting the following-

"(4) The Governor may, from time to time, authorize the total or partial exemption from assessment of any tenement.".
