contract for one month renewable from month to month and which makes provision for the length of notice required to terminate the coo- tract, the agreed period, but not less than seven days"; and

(b) in subsection (3), by inserting after "probation" the

following-

Addition of new section

"and the contract does not make provision for the length of notice required for its termination".

Section 6 of the principal Ordinance is amended-

(a) in subsection (1)—

() by deleting "paying" and substituting the follow- ing-

"agreeing to pay";

(ii) by deleting "under subsection (2) or paragraph (6) of subsection (3) of section 5, whichever period is appro- priate in the case" and substituting the following-

"by section 5"; and

(b) in subsection (2) by deleting "paying" and substituting

the following--

"agreeing to pay".

Section 15 of the principal Ordinance is amended—

(a) in subsection (1) by deleting "at the time of the termina-

tion":

(b) by deleting subsection (3) and substituting the follow-

ing

"(3) In addition to any deduction which may be made under section 21, and subject to any order made by a court, an employer may deduct from any sum payable under subsection (1) to an employee who terminates his employment otherwise than in accordance with section 5 or section 6 such sum as the employee would have been liable to pay if he had terminated his employment in accordance with section 6.".

5. The principal Ordinance is amended by adding, after section 34A, the following new section--

"Amendment

34B. The Governor may, by order published in

of forms. the Gazerte, amend Part II of the Second Schedule.".
