An Ordinance to amend the Buildings Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Buildings (Amend- ment) Ordinance 1971 and shall come into operation on a day to be appointed by the Governor by notice in the Gazelte.

2. Section 2 of the principal Ordinance is amended in sub- section (1) by inserting, in the appropriate place in the alphabetical order having regard to the initial letter of each of them, the following definitions-

""registered ventilation contractor" means any person whose name

is for the time being on the register of ventilation contractors maintained under section 8;

"ventilating system" means a mechanical system for introducing

or exhausting air;".
