An Ordinance to amend the Widows and Orphans Pension

Ordinance.

[3rd September, 1971.]

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Widows and Orphans Pension (Amendment) (No. 2) Ordinance 1971.

2. Section 22 of the principal Ordinance is repealed and replaced by the following-

"Pension to widow, etc.

22. (1) The pension payable to the widow of a contributor shall cease on her death or remarriage.

(2) If on the cessation under subsection (1) of such pension there are no pensionable children of the marriage of the widow with the contributor, such widow shall, for the purposes of this section, be con- sidered as dead and the pension payable to her shall lapse.
