An Ordinance to amend the law relating to the distribution of

intestates' estates.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Intestates' Estates Ordinance 1971 and shall come into operation on a day to be appointed by the Governor by notice in the Gazerte.

2 (1) Io this Ordinance, unless the context otherwise requires

"court" means the Supreme Court;

"estate" means real and personal estate;

"husband" and "wife", in relation to a person, mean a husband

or wife of that person by a valid marriage;

"intestate" includes a person who leaves a will but dies intestate

as to some beneficial interest in his estate: "personal chattels" means motor cars and accessories, garden effects, horses, domestic animals, plate, plated articles, Jinen,
