(iii) by inserting after sub-paragraph (iii) the follow-

ing new sub-paragraph-

"(iv) special allowance or, in the case of an officer who has elected, ninety per cent of special allow- ance;"; and

(b) by inserting, after the definition of "salary". the

following-

C

"special allowance" means a special addition to salary declared to be pensionable as a special allowance by a resolution of the Legislative Council under section 2A;".

3. The principal Ordinance is amended by adding, after section 2, the following new section—

"Power of Legislative Council to declare a special allowance pensionable.

2A. (1) The Legislative Council may by resolu- tion declare a special addition to salary to be peu- sionable as a special allowance for the purposes of this Ordinance.

(2) A resolution under subsection (1) shall specify the date from which it shall have effect and such date may be before the date on which the resolu- tion is passed but shall not be before the 1st November 1967.”.

An Ordinance to establish a fund for providing or assisting in providing facilities for recreational, sporting, cultural and social activities and for the due administration of such fund and for purposes connected with the matters aforesaid.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

1.

This Ordinance may be cited as the Sir David Trench Fund for Recreation Ordinance 1970.

2. In this Ordinance, unless the context otherwise requires- "food" means the trust fund established by section 3; "trustee" means the Accountant General as trustee of the fund; "vesting day" means the date of commencement of this Ordinance.

3. (1) There is hereby established a fund to be known as the Sir David Trench Fund for Recreation.
