The principal Ordinance is amended in the First Schedule by adding, after "The Judges
tendered by the Governor.", the following-
"The Commissioners of
the Supreme Court

Judge.".

of January, 1970.

An Ordinance to amend further the Corporal Punishment Ordin-
auce and to make other consequential amendments.
[30th January, 1970.]
Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.
L. This Ordinance may be cited as the Corporal Punishment (Amendment) Ordinance 1970,
2. Sections 2 and 3 of the principal Ordinance are repealed and replaced by the following-

Schedule,
24 For the purposes of this Ordinance. “Court" means the Supreme Court, the District Court and a magistrate.
3. (1) Where any male person apparently of or above the age of sixteen years is convicted by a Court of any offence specified in Part I of the Schedule, the Court may, in addition to or in lieu of any other punishment for such offence, sentence the offender to be caned.
