In view of the recent press report that the U. S. Government is
modifying its restrictions on the use of cyclamates, will Government indicate whether Hongkong is contemplating similar action?
Mr. Fung Hon-chu to ask :
Is Government aware of reports from overseas on the harmful effects
of certain insecticides commonly referred to as DDT and of the measures taken to discourage or prohibit their use? If the answer 1s in the affirmative, could this Council be informed what action has been initiated or is being contemplated in the interest of public health?

The Attorney General :
Resolved, pursuant to section 133 of the Magistrates Ordinance,
that the Magistrates (Forms) (Amendment) Rules 1969, made by the Chief Justice on the 20th day of November 1969 under section 133 of that Ordinance, be approved.
