Resolution made and passed by the Legislative Council on the 8th day of April 1970.
Resolved, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 4 of
the Dutiable Commodities Ordinance, as follows- That the Resolution of the Legislative Council, published as Legal Notice Number 102 of 1967, be amended with effect from 0001 hours on Thursday, the 9th day of April 1970, by deleting paragraph (b) and substituting the following-
"(5) heavy oil-
(i) diesel oil for road
vehicles
(i) other heavy oils
$1.30 per gallon 10 cents per gallon.",

The Merchant Shipping (Laad Lines) Act 1967 makes further provision as to load lines and related matters and increases certain penalties. under the Merchant Shipping Acts 1994-1965 relating to passenger steamers. Ti enabled the United Kingdom to give effect to the International Conven- Lion on Load Lines, 1966. Section 28(1) of the Act provides that Her Majesty may by Order in Council direct that the provisions of the Act shall extend to (inter alia) any colony, with exceptions, adaptations or modifications.
2. This Order provides for the extension of the Act to Hong Kong with modifications and adaptations, and the Act as modified and adapted is set out in the Schedule to the Order. This Order will enable the International Convention on Load Lines, 1966 to be extended to Hong Koop.
