MERCHANT SHIPPING ORDINANCE. (Chapter 281).

MERCHANT SHIPPING (LAUNCHES AND FERRY VESSELS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 1970.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 97 of the Merchant Shipping Ordinance, the Governor in Council bas made the following regulations——

1. These regulations may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Launches and Ferry Vessels) (Amendment) Regulations 1970, and shall come into operation on the 1st day of April 1970.

2. Regulation 2 of the principal regulations is revoked and replaced by the following regulation-

2. These regulations apply to launches not exceeding three hundred tons, other than pleasure vessels within the meaning of the Merchant Shipping (Pleasure Vessels) Regulations 1970, and to ferry vessels of any tonnage.".

Regulation 3 of the principal regulations is amended by deleting the definition of "pleasure launch”.

4. Regulation 17 of the principal regulations is amended in paragraph (1)—

(a) by deleting "; and" in sub-paragraph (a) of the proviso

and substituting a full stop; and

(6) by deleting sub-paragraph (b) of the proviso.

5. Regulation 18 of the principal regulations is amended in paragraph (3)

(a) by deleting the colon at the end of sub-paragraph (c)

and substituting a full stop; and

(b) by deleting the proviso.

Regulation 19 of the principal regulations is amended-

(a) by deleting the colon at the end thereof and substituting

a full stop; and

(6) by deleting the proviso.

Part VII.

The principal regulations are amended by revoking
