An Ordinance to amend further the Criminal Procedure Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Criminal Procedure Short due. (Amendment) Ordinance 1969.
Section 9 of the principal Ordinance is amended in sub- section (2) by deleting "the assigning of solicitors and counsel as legal aids, the fees and costs to be allowed therefor,".
3. The principal Ordinance is amended by adding in Part I after section 9 the following new section-

9A. (1) The Chief Justice may, with the ap- proval of the Legislative Council, make rules pro- viding for the granting of legal aid in criminal cases to persons of limited means which rules, in particular, may-
