An Ordinance to amend further the Protection of Women and

Juveniles Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

1.

This Ordinance may be cited as the Protection of Women and Juveniles (Amendment) Ordinance 1968.

2. The principal Ordinance is amended by adding the following new section after section 34-

(1) Any probation officer. any person authorized in writing by the Director of Social Welfare and any police officer of the rank of inspector or above may take to a place of refuge any child or young person in respect of whom any of the offences specified in items 3, 4 and 5 in the Schedule has been or is believed to have been committed, or who is about to be brought before a juvenile court under section 34, and a child or young person so taken to a place of
