An Ordinance to repeal and re-enact with certain amendments the Employers and Servants Ordinance, to provide for the protec- tion of the wages of employees, to regulate employment agencies, and for matters connected therewith; and to make consequential amendments to the Contracts for Overseas Employment Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

PART I PRELIMINARY.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Employment Ordin- ance 1968.

2. In this Ordinance, unless the context otherwise requires- "Commissioner" means the Commissioner of Labour; "contract of employment" means any agreement, whether in writing or oral, express or implied, whereby one person agrees
