Amendment of section 35.

refuge, and any child or young person who has taken refuge in a place of refuge, may be detained there until he can be brought before a juvenile court.

(2) Within eight days after a child or young person is taken to, or takes refuge in, a place of refuge, an application in respect of that child or young person shall be made to a juvenile court under sub- section (1) of section 34.

(3) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub- section (1) of section 34, where an application is made to a juvenile court under that subsection the court may, whether or not the child or young person ia respect of whom the application is made is before the court- "

(2) muke an order for the detention or con- tinued detention of the child or young person in a place of refuge for a period not exceed- ing twenty-eight days in order that further inquiries may be made about hiro; and

(b) at any time during the continuance in force of such order, renew the same for one further period not exceeding twenty-eight days.",

3. Section 35 of the principal Ordinance is amended, in subsection (1), by deleting "being a female over fifteen".

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Public Services Short title. Commission (Amendment) Ordinance 1968.

2. Section 6 of the principal Ordinance is amended in sub- section (2) by deleting paragraph (e) and substituning the follow-
