Regulation 34 of the principal regulations is amended

being renumbered as paragraph (1) thereof; and inserting the following new paragraph-

"(2) No person shall in a public place by speak- ing, making any noise, sounding any instrument or otherwise solicit any other person to make use of a public omnibus or public car."

BANK NOTES ISSUE ORDINANCE. (Chapter 65),

RESOLUTION OF THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL,

Resolution made and passed by the Legislative Council on the 10th day of July 1968.

Resolved, pursuant to the proviso to section 5 of the Bank Notes Issue Ordinance. Chapter 65, that this Council hereby extends the powers of all the note-issuing banks to make, issue or re-issue and circulate notes until and including the 12th day of July 1969.

Explanatory Note.

(This Note is not part of the regulations, bur is intended to indicate their general purport).

Regulation 701Xd) of the principal regulations empowers the Commissioner of Transport to revoke a vehicle licence in respect of a taxi, public omnibus or public car it drivers of such vehicles owned by a registered owner for more than twelve months prior to the date of revoca- tion have been convicted of offences in connexion with the use of the vebicles as taxis. public omnibuses or public cars in such manner aa would Indicate that the registered owner is not exercising adequate control over such drivers. These regulations amend regulation 7(1)(a) by deleting the time limit of twelve months so that the vehicle licence may be revoked under the provision irrespective of the length of time during which the vehicle has been owned by the registered owner.

2. The regulations confer power on the Commissioner to revoke the licences of public omnibuses or public cars if those vehicles have been used in contravention of any of the conditions contained in the franchise to the registered owner under the Road Traffic (Public Omnibus and Public Car) Regulations.

3. Regulation 34 of the principal regulations is amended so as to prohibit the soliciting of members of the public to use public omnibuses or public cars.
