EMERGENCY REGULATIONS ORDINANCE.

(Chapter 241).

EMERGENCY (GENERAL HOLIDAY) REGULATIONS 1967.

Io exercise of the powers conferred by section 2 of the Emergency Regulations Ordinance, the Governor in Council bas made the following regulations-

1. These regulations may be cited as the Emergency (General Holiday) Regulations 1967.

Subject to the provisions of regulation 3. Monday the 20th day of November 1967, is appointed as a general holiday for the purposes of the Holidays Ordinance.

(1) The general boliday appointed by regulation 2 shall be kept as a holiday by every bank, but shall not be so kept by courts, educational establishments, public offices or Government departments.

(2) In this regulation, “bank" has the same meaning as in section 2 of the Banking Ordinance.

4. The general boliday appointed by regulation 2 shall be a "non-business day" for the purposes of the Bills of Exchange exchange, Ordinance.

Explanatory Note.

(This Note is not part of the regulations, but it is Intended to indicate their general purport).

These regulations appoint Monday, 20th November 1967, as a general holiday, to be kept as such only by banks which hold a licence under the Banking Ordinance. This provision is made necessary as a result of the devaluation of Sterling.
