Provided that if any substance has been added the appropriate declara- tion shall be modified in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 2.

2. If any substance, other thào sodium bicarbonate? sodium citrate or sodium phosphate has been added to dried partly akimmed milk or dried skimmed milk contained in any container the declaration of the label shall be in the appropriate for prescribed in sub-paragraph (a) or (b) of paragraph 1, as the case may be, with the following modificadous—

(a) there shall be added to the English lettering and Chinese character,

which constitute the description of the milk-

(i) the words "SWEETENED” «od "##)" respectively, where only sugar bas been added;

(i) the words "MODIFIED" and "(D)" respectively, where only & constituent of milk has been added; nod

(ii) the words "COMPOUNDED" and Y##)" respectively in every other case;

(6) except where sugar is the only added substance-

(i) the expressions “with (x) added" and "CAM(y) )" shall be added to the declaration of the label; and

(i) the insertion shall be completed by inserting words at (0) and (y), in English lettering and Chinese characters respectively, in order to specify the substance or substances added.

The declaration prescribed in sub-paragraph (a) of paragraph. | shall be completed by inserting at (2) the maximum milk fat content ex- pressed as a percentage of the total weight of the dried milk.

4. Each declaration prescribed in paragraph | shall

(a) be marked distinctly and legibly, in English letterlog and Chinese

characters;

(6) be printed in dark block type upon a light-coloured ground or

in light block type upon a dark-coloured ground;

(e) be enclosed by a surrounding line;

(d) include within the surrounding Bus no matter other than that

prescribed in paragraph 1.

Every label prescribed in paragraph | shall be securely affixed to or form part of the container, and shall be so placed on the side or top of the container as to be clearly visible,

Those regulations which follow the English Dried Milk Regula- tions 1965, with adaptations to meet local circumstanets, contain provisions relating to the composition and labelling of dried milk.

The opportunity has been taken to insert a provision similar to that in other subsidiary legislation under the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance specifying in whose name prosecution may be brought.
