Chief Justice.

Explanatory Note.

(This Nare is not part of the rules, but is intended to indicate their general purport).

Section 10 of the Matrimonial Causes Ordinance 1967 provides that, where no special provision is made in that Ordinance, the jurisdiction veated in the Supreme Court by that Ordinance shall so far as regards procedure, practice and powers of the Court be exercised in accordance with the procedure, praction and powers for the time being in force in the High Court of Justice in England with reference to matrimonial proceedings.

2. It is considered that the effect of section 10 is that the Divorce Rules made under the repealed Divorce Ordinance lapsed on the coming into operation of the Matrimonial Causes Ordinance 1967. The object of these Rules is to revoke the Divorce Rutes specifically so as to remove any possible doubt.
