3. This Ordinance shall not come into operation until Her Majesty's confirmation of the same has been proclaimed in the Colony by the Governor and thereafter it shall come into opera. tion upon such day as the Governor shall by the same or any other proclamation appoint.

This printed impression has been carefully compared by me with the Bill which passed the Legislative Council on the 30th day of March, 1967, and is found by me to be a true and correctly printed copy of the said Bill.

An Ordinance to amend further the Probation of Offenders

Ordinance.

[31st March, 1967.]

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Probation of Offenders (Amendment) Ordinance 1967,

2. The principal Ordinance is amended by adding the following new section after section 11-

11A. If, with the permission of the superintend- ent of an approved institution, a probationer who resides in the institution is employed outside the in- stitution under a contract of service or apprenticeship, and is paid wages, the superintendent may require the probationer to pay such charge in respect of his food and accommodation at the institution as the principal probation officer, with the approval of the Financial Secretary, may determine.".
