For the avoidance of doubt, it is hereby declared that anything done before the commencement of this Ordinance in purported exercise of the power of surcharge under Appendix I of the Waterworks Regula- tions shall be deemed to have been lawfully done.

An Ordinance to amend the District Court (Civil Jurisdiction and Procedure) Ordinance 1962 and to make related amendments to other enactments.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows-

and com- MENCENE.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the District Court (Civil Short title Jurisdiction and Procedure) (Amendment) Ordinance 1966, and shall come into operation on a day to be appointed by the Governor by Proclamation in the Gazette.

4, 5 and 12

* Sections 3, 4, 5 and 12 of the District Court (Civil Jurisdiction Amendment and Procedure) Ordinance 1962 (hereinafter referred to as the principal of sections 3, Ordinance) are amended by the deletion of the words "five thousand (22 of 1962). dollars" wherever they occur and the substitution therefor of the following-

"ten thousand dollars".
