An Ordinance further to amend the Waterworks Ordinance and to

validate surcharges under the Waterworks Regulations.

Bs it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and

consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows-

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Waterworks (Amendment Short title. and Validation) Ondinance 1966.

Section 17 of the Waterworks Ordinance (hereinafter referred Amendment

to as the principal Ordinance) is amended by-

(a) being renumbered as subsection (1) thereof; and

(b) the insertion of the following new subsection-

"(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub- section (1), where any surcharge is imposed under regula- tions for non-payment of any amount due, the surcharge shall be recoverable as a debt due to the Crown and may
