Amendment

of section 35,

20. The principal Ordinance is amended by the addition, after Addition of section 35, of the following new sections—

"Advance payment of rent.

35A. (1) This section applies to such persons of classes of persons as the Governor may determine.

(2) A competent authority may accept from any per- son to whom this section applies, by way of an advance payment of the rent that will become payable by such per- son as the tenant under such tenancy as may come to be granted to him under this Fart of this Ordinance, such sum as the Governor may fix for the purposes of this subsection. (3) Any sum accepted under subsection (2) by way of an advance payment of rent shall earu interest at the rate of three per cent per annum calculated from the first

new sections 35A and 35E.
