These regulations amend the Building (Administration) Regulations, 1959, in two respects.

Firstly, the period upon the expiry of which consent to commence building works or street works is deemed to have been given is extended from seven days to dwenty-eight days. This extension has become necessary in view of the considerable "extra work that will be imposed on the Building Authority in consequence of the amendments made to the Buildings Ordinance, 1953, by the Buildings (Amendment) (No. 2) Ordinance, 1964.

Secondly, a form is prescribed for the purposes of the new section 9D inserted in the Bulldings Ordinance, 1955, by the Buildings (Amendment) (No. 2) Ordinance, 1964.

BY HIS EXCELLENCY SIR DAVID CLIVE CROSBIE TRENCH, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Micbacl and Saint George, upon whom hath been conferred the Decoration of the Military Cross, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies and Vice-Admiral of the same.

WHEREAS by section 1 of the Workmen's Compensation (Amend- menų) Ordinance, 1964 (No. 19 of 1964), it is provided that the said Ordinance shall come into operation on a day to be appointed by the Governor by Proclamation in the Gazette:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DAVID CLIVE CROSBIE TRENCH, do hereby PROCLAIM that the said Ordinance shall come into operation on the 2nd day of October, 1964.
