BY HIS EXCELLENCY SI ROBERT BROWN BLACK, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies and Vice-Admiral of the same.

WHEREAS by section 1 of the Chinese University of Hong Kong Ordinance, 1963 (No. 28 of 1963), it is provided that the said Ordinance sball come into operation on a day to be appointed by the Governor by Proclamatian in the Gazette :

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROBERT BROWN BLACK, do hereby PROCLAIM that the said Ordinance sball come into operation on the 17th day of October, 1963.

GIVEN under my hand and the Public Seal of the Colony of Hong Kong this 9th day of October, 1963.
