“(1A) The Director of Agriculture and Forestry may in his absolute discretion issue to any person a permit in writing to possess for the purposes of veterinary treatment any substance to which this Ordinance applies or any preparation of which any such substance is an ingredient or part.".

6. Section 40 of the principal Ordinance is amended by- (a) the insertion in subsection (1), after the word "person", of

the following-

other than the holder of a valid permit issued by the Director of Agriculture and Forestry under subsection (LA) of section 4B."; and

(b) the deletion from subsection (2) of the words "this Ordinance" in the first place where they occur, and the substitution there- for of the following-

"subsection (1) of section 4B”.

7. Subsection (2) of section 4D of the principal Ordinance is

of section 4D. amended by-

(a) the deletion of the full stop at the end thereof and the sub-

stitution therefor of the following-

(5) the insertion, after paragraph (d), of the following new

paragraph-

"(e) to seize and detain any document, record or article which appears to him to constitute or contain evidence of the commission of an offence under this Ordinance.".

8. The marginal note to section 48 of the principal Ordinance is Amendment amended by the insertion therein, after the word “in”, of the following

"aqd to possess”,
