An Ordinance to amend the Legal Practitioners Ordinance, Chapter 159.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and

consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows...

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Legal Practitioners Short title. (Amendment) Ordinance, 1962.

2. The Legal Practitioners Ordinance is amended by the addition Addition of after section 34 of the following—

34A. (1) Without derogating from the right of the 340, 340 Committee of Court to act on its own motion under section 34, the Chief

(Cap. 159) Enquiry. Justice, upon application being made in writing by the Attorney General or by the Committee of the Hong Kong Bar Association (hereinafter referred to as the Bar Com- mittee), shall have power to appoint a Committee of Enquiry to exercise the function set out in section 34B.
