It is now considered that the provisions of this Part need no longer apply to shoring scaffolding, or platforms, and these regulations amend Part IX accordingly. WIL respect to shoring used in demolition works, new provisions have been made in regulation 4 of the Building (Demolition Works) Regulations, 1962.

2. It has always been considered that covered walkways, which are com- monly found on the site of building works or demolition works being carried o adjacent to or near a street, fall within the term "boarding". In order, however, to avoid any doubt as to the application of Part IX to these walkways, it i thought desirable to refer to the specifically in the regulations in that Part,

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 26 of the Buildings Ordinance, 1955, the Governor in Council has made the following regulations-
