REGISTRATION OF Persons (CANCELLATION OF RegistratioN AND IDENTITY CARds) Order, 1961.
In exercise of the powers conferred by provisos (vi) and (vii) to section 10 of the Registration of Persons Ordinance, 1960, the Governor has made the following Order—
1. This Order may be cited as the Registration of Persons Cltation, (Cancellation of Registration and Identity Cards) Order. 1961.
2. Any person who shall have failed on or before the 31st day of Cancellation December, 1961, to apply for re-registration under the provisions of the of registration
and identity Registration of Persons Ordinance, 1960, pursuant to the Onder specified cards. in the Schedule shall with effect from such date cease to be deemed to (18 of 1960).

(This Note is not part of the Order, bur is intended to indicate its general purport).
This Order affects only those persons resident in the villages in the New Territories listed in the Schedule to the Registration of Persons (Re-registration) (No. 14) Order, 1961, who were in possession of old identity cards issued under the Registration of Persons Ordinance, Chapter 177, repealed by the Registration of Persons Ordinance, 1960, and who have failed by the 31st day of December. 1961, to have re-registered in compliance with the appropriate Order specified In the Schedule to this Order. The effect of this Order will be to render invalid any old identity cards held by any such persons and to cause them to become unregistered persons with effect from the said date.
