REGISTRATION OF PERSONS (Amendment) REGULATIONS, 1961.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 8 of the Registration
of Persons Ordinance, 1960, the Governor in Council has made the
following regulations—
1. These regulations may be cited as the Registration of Persons Citation. (Amendment) Regulations, 1961.
2. Regulation 3 of the Registration of Persons Regulations, 1960 Amendment
of regula (bereinafter referred to as the principal regulations) is amended- dion 3. (2) in paragraph (1), by the deletion of the words "and register (G,N,A.
in accordance with the provisions of these regulations" and 41/60), the substitution therefor of the following-
"and apply for registration in accordance with the provi- sions of these regulations"; and
(b) in paragraph (3), by the deletion of the words "to register"
and the substitution therefor of the following-
"to apply for the registration of".
3. Regulation 5 of the principal regulations is amended— (a) in paragraph (1)
(1) by the deletion of the words "After due compliance by applicants with the provisions of regulation 4 the registra- tion officer shall, if he is satisfied with the particulars furnished thereunder, cause to be delivered to every applicant an identity card" and the substitution therefor of the following-
"After due compliance by any applicant with the provisions of regulation 4 and the payment by him to the registration officer of the appropriate fee (if any) pre- scribed in the Second Schedule, the registration officer shall cause to be prepared for collection by such applicant an identity card"; and
(ii) by the deletion of the dash after the word "within" and of sub-paragraphs (ɗ) and (e) and the substitution therefor of the following-
"one hundred and twenty days after the date of applica- tion or such lesser period as the Commissioner may specify by notice in writing served upon the applicant."; and
