An Ordinance to amend the Corrupt and Illegal Practices Ordinance.

1955.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows-

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Corrupt and Illegal Short title. Practices (Amendment) Ordinance, 1961.

2. Section 2 of the Corrupt and Illegal Practices Ordinance, 1955 Antendment (hereinafter referred to as the principal Ordinance) is amended by the of section 2. deletion of the definition "secretary" and the substitution therefor of the (20 of 1955) following-

"returning officer" means such officer as may from time to time be appointed to be returning officer for the purposes of any election to which the provisions of this Ordinance are applied in accordance with section 3.**
