MERCHANT SHIPPING (CERTIFICATION OF TRAWLING MASTERS)
RULES, 1960.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 91 of the Merchant
Supping Ordinance, 1953, the Governor in Council has made the
Allowing rules--
1. These rules may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Certifica- Citation.
to of Trawling Masters) Rules, 1960.
2. In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires-- "ertificate of competency as a trawling master" includes a certificate of competency as a trawling master endorsed with the word Limited:

*Table" means the Table I referred to in rule 2 of the Merchant
Shipping (Masters and Mates Certificates) Rules, 1953.

1 No application for a certificate of competency as a trawling Qualification raster shall be granted unless the applicant therefor—
(o) has attained the age of twenty-one years;
(b) has passed the sight tests prescribed in rule 23 of Table 1;
(c) is the holder of a valid First Aid Certificate within the
meaning of rule 22 of Table I; and
(d) in the case of an applicant for a certificate of competency as
a trawling master endorsed with the word Limited-
() has served at sea in a deck rating for not less than four years of which not less than one year was served in trawlers; and
(ii) has passed an examination in the subjects specified in the First Schedule to these rules; and
(e) in the case of an applicant for a certificate of competency as trawling master without the endorsement of the word Limited-
() has served at sea in a deck rating for not less than five years of which not less than two years were served in trawlers: and
for certificate of com- pelency.
