DANGEROUS DRUGS ORDINANCE.

(Chapter 134),

Dangerous Drugs (Amendment) RegulatIONS, 1960.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 11 of the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, the Governor in Council has made the following regulations--

1 These regulations may be cited as the Dangerous Drugs Cutation, (Amendment) Regulations, 1960.

2. Regulation 2 of the Dangerous Drugs Regulations (hereinafter referred to as the principal regulations) is revoked and replaced by the following new regulation-

"2. In these regulations- “dental surgeon" means à person registered as a dentist under the Dentists Registration Ordinance, 1959, by reason of his holding the qualification specified in paragraph (a) or (b) of section 8 of that Ordinance; "registered medical practitioner". "medical practitioner" and "duly qualified medical practitioner” means a medical practitioner duly registered under the Medical Registration Ordinance. 1957.".

3. Regulation 3 of the principal regulations is amended- (a) by the insertion after the figure " of the following-

(6) by the deletion of the words “morphine, esters of morphine. dihydromorphinone, aceryldihydrocodelnone, cocaine, ecgonine, diamorphine, benzoyl-morphine, dihydrooxycodeinone or dihy- drocodelnone or their respective salts or medicinal opium" and the substitution therefor of the following-

"any dangerous drug specified in the First Schedule to the Ordinance"; and

(c) by the addition at the end thereof of the following new

paragraph-

"(2) In this regulation "manufacture" includes the preparation of any extract of any dangerous drug or any process whereby any dangerous drug is combined or mixed with any other substance whether such substance is or is not a dangerous drug.".

OF FOURTH SCHEDULE) ORDER, 1960.

In exercise of the powers conferred by subsection (6) of section 106

of the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance, 1960, the Governor

has made the following Order

ment.

1. This Order may be cited as the Public Health and Urban Clation and Services Ordinance, 1960 (Amendment of Fourth Schedule) Order, 1960, and shall come into operation on the day appointed for the commence- meat of the Public Health und Urban Services Ordinance. 1960 (here- inafter referred to as the Ordinance).

2. The Fourth Schedule to the Ordinance is amended by the Amendment deletion therefrom of the words "Tai Lam Beach".

Explanatory Note.

Tai Lam Beach, which is situated in the Tsuen Wen District of the New Territories, was included in the Fourth Schedule to the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance. 1960, in error, The beach is, in fact, used by the Sand Monopoly, and it was never intended that it should be designated as a ! public pleasure ground under that Ordinance.
