4. Subsection (1) of section 20 of the principal Ordinance is

(a) by the deletion of the words “who desires to be accommodated in a cottage resettlement area or in a resettlement estate or who resides in an unlawful structure"; and
(6) by the insertion after the word "person" where it occurs for

Sections 24 and 37 of the principal Ordinance are amended by the deletion wherever they occur of the words "for the resettlement of such persons as by reason of their association with the Colony or other- wise appear to him to merit assistance",

Section 33 of the principal Ordinance is amended- (a) by the deletion of the words "in a dwelling”; and
(b) by the insertion after the word "trespasser" of the following-

Section 35 of the principal Ordinance is amended-

The principal Ordinance is amended by the addition, after section 52, of the following new section-
"Obstruction
of authorized officer on offence.
53. Any person who resists or obstructs any authoriz- ed officer in the exercise of his powers under provisions of this Ordinance shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine of one thousand dollars and to imprisonment for six months.".

An Ordinance to amend the Bills of Exchange Ordinance, Chapter 19.
[1st April. 1561.]
Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Bills of Exchange (Amend- Short fille ment) Ordinance, 1960, and shall come into operation on 1st day of and com April, 1961.

2. Part III of the Bills of Exchange Ordinance is amended by the Amendment of Part III repeal of sections 32 and 84 and the substitution therefor of the following of cap. 19.

84A. (1) Where a banker in good faith and in the ordinary course of business pays a cheque drawn on bi which is not endorsed or is irregularly endorsed, he does not, in doing so, incur any liability by reason only of the absence of, or irregularity in, endorsement, and he is deemed to have paid it in due course.
