An Ordinance to amend the Road Traffic Ordinance, 1957.

BE it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and

consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows-

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Road Traffic (Amendment) Short title. Ordinance, 1960.

2. The Road Traffic Ordinance, 1957, is amended by the addition Addition of after section 14 of the following new section-

"Exemption

14A.

14A, (1) The provisions of any enactment imposing (39 of 1957), control by traffic lights on motor vehicles shall not apply to any motor vehicle on an occasion when it is being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, so long as the approach of the vehicle to the traffic lights is indicated by the sounding of a gong, bell or siren and if compliance with those provisions would be likely to hinder the use of the vehicle on that occasion for any of those purposes."
