Explanatory Note.

Indicate their general purport).

These regulations are consequential upon the enactment of the Hong Kong Auxiliary_Police Force Ordinance, 1959. Regulations 10 and 11 of the Police Reserve Regulations and the First Schedule to the Emergency (Special Con- stabulary) Regulations, 1950, which these regulations replace, made identical provisions for the payment of gratuities and pensions to members of the Police Reserve and the Special Constabulary, respectively, and their dependants. These regulations make provision for the payment of gratuities and pensions to members of the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force and their dependants. The provisions of these regulations are identical with the provisions of the regulations which they replace.
