Explanatory Note,
(This Note is not part of the by-laws, but is intended to indicate their general purport).
At present, by virtue of the provisions of by-law 2 of the Conservancy By-laws, the charges for the conservancy service provided by the Urban Council vary according to the purposes for which premises are used. It has been decided that this variation in the chargen should be dispensed with, and that the charges for this service should no longer be dependent on the user of premises. These by-laws amend the Conservancy By-laws to give effect to that decision and their effect is to substitute for the present charges a standard charge of sixteen dollars per quarter. The opportunity has been taken to make provision for the payment of these charges where the provision of the conservancy service la commenced during the currency of any half-yearly period.
