Explanatory Note.

(This Note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general purport).

These regulations rescind and replace the Building (Administration) Regula- Jon, 1996. The provisions of the former regulations are retained and expanded over street works and lift and escalator works. Part IV is new and sets out the procedure for applying for and the granting of approval of plans and consent l commence works under section 9 of the Ordinater. The fees prescribed in regulation 44 for permitting a balcony to project over Crown land have been altered from $200.00 per street to $3.00 per square foot of gross area of balcony ver Crown land where the number of floors with balconica does not exoced four, and rising to 35.00 where the number of such floors exceeds ten. Opportunity has also been taken to amend some of the forms in the light of experience gained since they were introduced,
