Au Ordinance to amend the Summary Offences Ordinance, Chapter 228.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and

consent of the Legislative Council thereof as follows-

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Summary Offences Short title. (Amendment) Ordinance, 1959.

2. The Summary Offences Ordinance (hereinafter referred to as Addition of the principal Ordinance) is amended by the addition after section 3 new section. of the following new section-

(Cap. 238).

"Delegation of powers.

ZA. Where under any provision of this Ordinance any public officer is empowered to permit or consent to the doing of any thing or to issue any licence in respect thereof, such power may be exercised by any public officer in the same department as that of the officer to whom the power is granted who is authorized in writing in that behalf by such officer.”,
