Section 19 is amended by the deletion from paragraph (e) thereof of the word "whipped" and the substitution therefor of the word "caned".
Sections 92, 93 and 116 (and the marginal notes thereto) are amended by the deletion therefrom of the wordi ́, "whipped", "whipping" and "dogging" wherever they occur therein and by the substitution of the word ““, "caned" for the word "whipped" and of the word d "caning" for the words “whipping" and "dogging", as the case may be.

An Ordinance to amend the law as to the liability of occupiers and others for injury or damage resulting to persons or goods lawfully on any land or other property from dangers due to the state of the property or to things done or omitted to be done there, and for purposes connected therewith.
[1st April, 1960.]
Bs it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice
and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows-
1. (1) This Ordinance may be cited as the Occupiers Liability Short title Ordinance, 1959.
(2) This Ordinance shall come into operation on the 1st day
of April, 1960.

in place of the rules of the common law, to regulate the duty which
an occupier of premises owes to his visitors in respect of dangers due
