Au Ordinance to amend the Merchuot Shipping Ordinance, 1953.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and

consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows-

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Merchant Shipping Short title. (Amendment) Ordinance, 1959.

2. Section 2 of the Merchant Shipping Ordinance, 1953 (herein- Amendment.

after referred to as the principal Ordinance) is amended-

() by the insertion before the definition of "Director" of the

following new definition—

"accepted Safety Convention certificate" has the meaning assigned to it by section 14 of the Merchant Shipping (Safety Convention) Act, 1949;";

(b) by the insertion in the definition "Minister" after the word

"Transport", wherever appearing, of the following—

"and Civil Aviation";

of section 2. (14 of 1953).
