An Ordinance to make provision for the continuation in force of
certain enactments made pursuant to powers conferred by the Emergency Powers (Defence) Acts, 1939 to 1945, and for purposes connected therewith.

WHEREAS by virtue of the Defence Regulations (Continua- Preamble. tion and Modification) (No. 1) Order, 1948, the enactments specified in the Schedule to this Ordinance (hereinafter referred to as the scheduled enactments) are now in force:
AND WHEREAS the said Order was enacted by virtue of powers in that behalf conferred upon the Governor by subsections (1) and (2) of section 1 and by section 3 of the Supplies and Services (Transitional Powers) Act, 1945, as extended and applied to the Colony by the Supplies and Services (Transitional Powers) (Colonies, etc.) Order in Council, 1946:
