which may be necessary to establish the qualification of such person for occupation of a dwelling in a cottage resettlement area or in a resettlement estate.

(2) The competent authority, or such authorized officer, may write down such questions and the replies to such questions or any of them and may require such person to make such declara- tion as he may deem necessary as to the truth of such replies.

(3) The competent authority or an authorized officer may complete in respect of such person a screening form in such form as shall be prescribed by regulations made under section $1, with such additions as he shall consider necessary.

(4) The competent authority, or such authorized officer, may require such person to produce to him such evidence as he thinks fil in support of the statements and answers made by him.

21. Any person who makes any statement to a competent authority or to an authorized officer in reply to any question pur to him in accordance with the provisions of section 20, or makes a declaration to a competent authority or to an authorized officer, which he knows to be false or does not believe to be true, shall be guilty of an offence and on summary conviction shall be liable to a fine of one thousand dollars and to imprisonment for one

vear.

22. (1) If a competent authority or an authorized officer is satisfied that a person is eligible for accommodation in a coltage resettlement area or in a resettlement estate, he may issue to him a resettlement card in accordance with such form as may be prescribed by regulations made under section 51.

(z) Any person who-

(a) defaces, alters or destroys any resettlement card; or

(b) has in his possession any resettlement card which has

been defaced or altered; or

(c) not being an officer authorized by the competent authority, has in his possession without lawful authority or excuse any resettlement card other than a card on which his name appears,

shall be guilty of an offence and on summary conviction shall be liable to a fine of one thousand dollars and to imprisonment for one year.
