(2) For the avoidance of doubt, it is hereby declared that the Hong Kong Airport (Control of Obstructions) Order, 1957, which was enacted on the 10th day of December, 1957, shall be deemed to have been enacted under paragraph (b) of subsection (1) of section 3 of the principal Ordinance as amended by subsection (1) of this section.

Amend. ment of section 5.

(a)

Amend- ment of section 8.

Section 5 of the principal Ordinance is amended by- the insertion after the word "Aviation" of the following-

"after consultation with the Director of Public Works"; and

(b) the substitution of a comma for the full stop at the end thereof and by the insertion thereafter of the following-

"and specify the date by which the building works of such demolition or reduction in height shall be commenced.".

Section 5 of the principal Ordinance is amended by-- (a) the insertion after the figure "8" of the following-

"(x)"

(b) the deletion of the words "lighting of an amber colour or of a colour resembling amber." and the substitution therefor of the following-

"'occulting light of any colour,"

(c) the addition after subsection (1) of the following new

subsections-

"(2) For the purposes of this section, the expression "occulting light" includes any light which is cut off from view at regular or irregular intervals or which is visible suddenly or intermittently.

(3) This section shall not apply to navigational or signal lights, or to any occulting light of an intensity of less than two hundred candle-power."; and

(d) the deletion from the marginal note thereto of the word "amber" and the substitution therefor of the following-

"'occulting".

5. The principal Ordinance is amended by the addition after Addition section 8 of the following new section-

of now section 84.

"Power to prohibit lighting.

BA. Where in the opinion of the Governor in Council the safety of aircraft so requires, he may by order prescribe areas within which no person shall expose to the sky or permit to be exposed to the sky any type of lighting specified in or by such order.".

8. Section 12 of the principal Ordinance is amended by the Amend- deletion of paragraph (b) and the substitution therefor of the ment of following-

*(b) for the demolition or reduction in height of any building which is required to be demolished or re- duced in height by an order under paragraph (c) of subsection (1) of section 3, in any case-

() where the building works of such demolition or reduction have not been commenced by the date specified in a notice under section 5; or

(ii) where such demolition or reduction has not been completed by the date specified in a notice under section 51 pr

(iii) where the Director of Public Works is of opinion that such demolition or reduction is unlikely to be completed by the date specified in a notice under section 5;".

7. Section 20 of the principal Ordinance is amended by (a) the deletion of the words "section 3 or section 7," and

the substitution therefor of the following-

"section 3, 7 or 8A,' and

(b) the deletion of the words "or of the provisions of section

B,"

8. Section 22 of the principal Ordinance is amended by

(a) the deletion in sub-paragraph (1) of paragraph (b) of sub- section (1) of the semi-colon at the end thereof and by the insertion thereafter of the following-

"of an order under section BA; or'';
