(b) is the holder, in addition to the qualification by virtue of which he claims registration, of a qualification granted outside the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland which is recognized by the Council for the purposes of this section as furnishing a sufficient guarantee of the possession of the requisite knowledge and skill for the efficient practice of medicine, surgery and midwifery, makes application in that behalf to the Council, the Council may direct that, as an alternative to the re- quirements as to experience specified in section 9, it shall be sufficient for him to satisfy the Council that he has rendered satisfactory service in an appointment or appointments (whether within or outside Her Majesty's dominions) such as in the opinion of the Council confer experience of the practice, of medicine and surgery, or medicine, surgery and midwifery, not less extensive than that required for a certificate under the said section 9, or that bebas otherwise acquired such experience as aforesaid.", YÜKL
