a Ordinance to validate the collection of stamp duties on certain instruments affecting land in the New Territories to which Part 1 of the New Territories Ordinance does not apply.

WHEREAS-

(4) by virtue of regulation 2 of the Stamp (N.T.) (Exemption and Modification) Regulations, 1952, all instruments, except conveyances on sale and voluntary dispositions inter vivos, affecting land in the New Territories were exempted from stamp duty;

(b) by virtue of regulation 3 of the said regulations, con- veyances on sale and voluntary dispositions inter vivos affecting land in the New Territories not being land in New Kowloon were made chargeable with the stamp
