STAMP ORDINANCE. (Chapter 117).
STAMPING AND DENOTING of Documents (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1957.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 4 of the Stamp Ordinance, the Governor in Council has made the following regulations
1. These regulations may be cited as the Stamping and Citation. Denating of Documents (Amendment) Regulations, 1957.

placement tions) is rescinded and replaced by the following new regulations of regala-
tion 3. 3. (1) Save as provided in paragraph (3), every (Val. IX. instrument chargeable with stamp duty, other than P. 401). such an instrument stamped, under and in accordance with the provisp to, subsection (1) of section 14 of the Ordinance, by hears of an adhesive stamp, shall be presented at the Stamp Office for stamping and the Collector shall thereupon cause such instrument to be stamped in the following manner-
(a) by affixing to the instrument an adhesive revenue stamp denoting the amount of duty chargeable in respect of the instrument and impressing on the instrument by means of a metal stamp, the date of stamping, so that the impression thereby made falls partly upon such adhesive stamp so as to cancel such stamp; or
(b) by stamping the instrument with the amount of duty chargeable in respect thereof and the date of stamping by means of a franking machine; or
(c) by impressing on the instrument by means of a metal stamp the date of stamping, whereupon the Collector shall record on the instrument as close as possible to the date so impressed, a statement of the amount of duty chargeable in respect thereof together with his signature.
