FOURTH SCHEDULE.

Meaning of approved traffic signa.

(reg. 9(3),1

The significance of approved traffic signs shall be as follows- (a) the red light described in the First Part of the Third Schedule or the red face described in Diagramı 1 of the Third Sebedule shall be taken as prohibiting vehicular traffle from proceeding beyond the signal until the green light or green face is shown; (6) the amber-with red signal (where an amber signal is provided) as described in the First Part of the Third Schedule shall be taken to denote an impending change in the Indications given by the signal from red to green, but shall not be taken to alter the prohibitory significance of the red signals.

(e) the green signal described in the First Part of the Third Schedule or the green face described in the Second Part of the Third Schedule shall be taken to indicate that vehicular traffic may pass the signals and proceed with due regard to the safety of other users of the road;

(d) the amber signal (where an amber signal is provided) described in the First Part of the Third Schedule shall be taken sa pro- hibiting vehicular traffic from proceeding beyond the signals except in the case of any vehicle which, when the signal "first appeara, is so close to the signal that it cannot safely be stopped before passing the signal.
