URBAN COUNCIL ELECTIONS (PROCEDURE) (AMENDMENT} REGULATIONS, 1957-
In exercise of the powers conferred by subsection (1) of section
30 of the Urban Council Ordinance, 1955, the Governor in Council
has made the following regulations--
1. These regulations may be cited as the Urban Council Citation. Elections (Procedure) (Amendment) Regulations, 1957.

2. Regulation 27 of the Urban Council Elections (Procedure) Amendment Regulations, 1955 (hereinafter referred to as the principal regula-gulation tions) is amended

(4) by the deletion of the full stop at the end thereof and the 64/66).

(b) by the addition at the end thereof of the following-
"Provided that in the case of an extraordinary election to fill only one vacancy, a ballot paper need not be perforated.".
3. Regulation 48 of the principal regulations is amended

(a) by the deletion of the full stop at the end of paragraph regulation
(1) and the substitution therefor of a colon; and (b) by the addition at the end of paragraph (1) of the
following
"Provided that in the case of an extraordinary election to fill only one vacancy, it shall not be necessary for a ballot paper to be torn and the ballot papers on which votes have been recorded for each candidate shall be placed in separate piles.".

4. Regulation 50 of the principal regulations is amended Amendment (a) by the deletion in paragraph (3) of the comma at the end regulation
of sub-paragraph (e) and the substitution therefor of a 50. semi-colon; and
(b) by the addition in paragraph (3), after sub-paragraph (e),
of the following-
